Our Story

The Vintage Equestrian Stock Co. was founded from a genuine passion for the equestrian world and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and design. Rooted in classic equestrian style, the brand creates thoughtfully designed pieces that celebrate tradition while remaining quietly contemporary. We handcraft stock ties for riders across all disciplines — from Dressage and Showing to Carriage Driving and Show Jumping — because every discipline deserves the same standard of care and finish.

Each piece is carefully handcrafted with close attention to detail, material and finish. Quality is paramount, from the selection of materials to the final construction, ensuring every item reflects both the heritage of equestrian sport and a commitment to enduring design. The result is a considered collection of refined pieces, created to be cherished and used for years to come.

The Inspiration

Our story begins in the equestrian world — in the quiet ritual of tying a stock, the gleam of a well-polished pin, the sense of occasion that comes with dressing correctly for the discipline. We were drawn to the elegance of traditional equestrian dress and frustrated by the lack of pieces that honoured that heritage without feeling dated or mass-produced.

Vintage Equestrian Stock Co. was born from a desire to fill that gap: to create accessories that feel genuinely considered, that carry a sense of history, and that a rider would be proud to wear both in the arena and beyond.

Our Craftsmanship

Every piece we make is produced by hand, one at a time. We work in small batches, which allows us to maintain a level of care and consistency that simply isn't possible at scale. Each stock tie is cut, folded, and finished individually — no shortcuts, no compromises.

We handcraft stocks for riders across the full breadth of the horse world — whether you compete in Dressage, Showing, Carriage Driving, or Show Jumping, our pieces are made to meet the specific demands of your discipline. The requirements of each arena are different, and we take that seriously in how we approach cut, weight, and finish.

Our process begins long before the first stitch. We spend time researching historical equestrian dress, studying construction techniques, and refining our patterns until the drape, weight, and proportion feel exactly right. From there, each piece passes through multiple stages of hand-finishing before it is ready to leave our studio.

The majority of our collection is ready-tied, offering a polished, consistent result every time. We also offer a select range of self-tie stocks, and these are anything but ordinary. Our self-tie design is entirely our own: a unique fastening that allows the stock to be removed quickly and easily without dismantling the tie itself, so it is always ready to wear again, exactly as you left it.

Our brooches and pins are selected and finished with the same attention to detail — chosen to complement the stocks and to stand on their own as refined accessories.

Our Materials

We source our fabrics and materials with care, prioritising quality, longevity, and a considered aesthetic. Our stock ties are made from fine woven fabrics chosen for their handle, structure, and ability to hold a clean knot — qualities that matter as much in the ring as they do in the hand.

We favour natural fibres and traditional weaves where possible, working with suppliers who share our commitment to quality. Every material is assessed not just for how it looks, but for how it performs — how it wears over time, how it responds to movement, and how it ages.

Our brooches and pins are finished in tarnish-resistant metals and selected for their weight and detail. We believe the right pin should feel substantial and purposeful — a small thing that makes a considered statement.
